World Cup 2002 - African qualification - match report
Tunisia - Congo  Jul 1, 1800 GMT
1st half:
only half chances but dominance by Tunisia before a penalty helped them break the resistance and gain the momentum. After the event the Congolese exposed huge gates to walk through  their defence. A Zitouni slalom made it 2:0 before Gabsi? added a third in style.
halftime 3:0
2nd half:
-('47) Tunisia start with two huge opportunities, Congo answer with a nice attempt at least
-chances every minute in the day of no defence
-('58) Tunisian #5 (which is not Jaziri today) scores from 1 meter. Had he not been there, it had been an own goal - 4:0
-('62) the Congolese keeper rather likes to play outside the penalty area, it is Baya's second attempt on an empty goal in the second half, this time it's in - 5:0
-chances every minute, the Tunisians are perfect in keeping the tempo too high for the guests and exploit all positioning errors by a good organisation in their attacks
-the interpretation of the ofside rule seems to be very forward friendly today (concerns the Tunisian attacks) - unusual for African refereeing, but it is Congo's fault, too, if they play offside all the time
-In the last quarter the match is a luittle bit more quiet, the Congolese try to attack but they do not have much impact. One of the reasons: the players are smaller than the Tunisians.
-in injury time Tunisia add a sixth with one of the many counter-attacks against the open defence
