The match went as
expected. St.Louisienne leaving the field to Espérance, lurking
for counter attacks. Espérance using offside against. Espérance
had their biggest opportunity after half an hour, but altogether the match
was disappointing in the first half.
Some déja vu
took place when the referee played the icebreaker for the Tunisians after
54 minutes: Nsilulu dribbled around some defenders and came to fall in
the penalty area. What looked like a penalty became very doubtful in the
slowmotion: Azaiez converted the penalty anyway: 0:1
From now on the match
became totally lopsided and it seemed only a question of time when the
Tunisians would add another goal.
But suddenly after
70 minutes St.Louisienne had two huge opportunities in counter play, one
featuring a shot against the crossbar of the Espérance goal.
Julius Aghahowa finally
put the match away with his goal in the 86th, what he celebrated spectacularly
like in the first leg described.
Final result: 0:2
